Please join us in congratulating Dr. Benjamin McManus, TRIP Lab Assistant Director, on his recently awarded K01 grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety. Dr. McManus’ project, Longitudinal Study of Fatigue, Stress, and Work Organization as Risk Factors for Motor Vehicle Crash Risk in Surgical Residents, will be the first longitudinal assessment of sleep, fatigue, stress, work organization, and driving performance in surgical residents and will advance knowledge on the well-being and worker organization guidelines and policies in healthcare. His research findings are expected to inform duty hour policies and residency training to maximize resident health and safety and ultimately reduce motor vehicle crash rates.

Congratulations, Dr. McManus!
