Interns are people, typically students or recent students, who work to gain more experience in a particular area. Internships offer a plethora of valuable experiences. In the classroom, students learn about the concept of research. They learn the steps and the theory. Through an internship, students can learn by doing. They turn theory into practice. Interns actively participate in the research process, gaining valuable hands-on experience, and find out what being a researcher is really like. Internships are the perfect time to learn about new research fields and meet other researchers. These opportunities and connections are often invaluable in helping the student shape their futures.
